What Games Have You Bought Recently?

  1. Gamer is the console setting (lowest possible), Advanced medium and Hardcore highest.
It says it aswel in the console, highest spec.

    Just try it...

Ran well on Advanced aswell, didnt see much difference... Only big diff is with gamer setting.

  2. Marvel vs Capcom 3... this game is BEAST!!!

  3. I forgot to mention that I also bought Just Cause 2 on PC. It looks terrific on PC.

  4. @LTK: is Marvel VS much fun for a casual fighting fan? I've been tempted but I'm no hardcore fan of the genre.

@AKS: what do you make of JC2? I lost interest quote quickly but I've been thinking of giving it another try.

  5. I've bought the following recently:

    Plants VS Zombies (PSN)

This has been awesome fun. Pretty pricey but the extra modes vs the iPhone version make it totally worthwhile. Great game.

    Stacking (PSN)

Really charming puzzler adventure game based on Russian dolls by Tim Schaefer's Double Fine. Looks like it has the potential to be a very nice and unique experience.

    Red Faction Guerilla (PS3)

Surprisingly fun sandbox destruction game. Quite open ended in some ways and the destruction engine for buildings is pretty sweet.

    Pure (PS3)

Quad bike racer with stunt elements included. OK but didn't really grab me.

    Ratchet Gladiators (PS2)

  6. CHI!!!

According to the website thingy CEX still has the one copy of 3D dot Games Heroes in stock that I found yesterday. Being someone who has played it is it worth it hmmm? Its only £15 so not a total loss if it doesn't live up to my expectations but a reply before 1pm would be nice!

  7. I liked it but didn't love it. It reminded me more of the early Zeldas but didn't live up to stuff like a LttP. It's got a lot of charm but the core game felt a bit too simple to grab me fully. If you've got find memories of the first Zelda then it's more than likely worth it.

  8. Hmmmm..

Not sure then, I am playing FFIX and enjoying that again so perhaps I will not bother as that should be able to take up the next month or so of my limited time before Infamous 2 comes out which is a MUST BUY.

  9. Its a good old skool RPG and doesn't take itself too seriously, the sword upgrades are probably worth the price of admission alone. If you want a bright and cheerful classic RPG with pretty graphics and a sword bigger than the screen, go for it.

Just don't attempt to get trophies, they're bastardly tough. Almost monsly levels of bastard.

  10. @grim: I didn't know you were a big dan of Infamous. I really enjoyed the original but I'll probably wait until the sales before grabbing the sequel.

  11. I got Infamous late so picked it up for around £15 but boy did I enjoy it. Fantastic fun all round and I spent quite a bit of time trophy farming it, I ALMOST went for the Platinum and was halfway through a hard mode good side playthrough which would have got me most of the other trophies I needed when something else came up and I kind of forgot about it. As with everything the first time playthrough is usually the best and so it took a back-seat when I think it was FFXIII came out, still intend to go back and finish what I started however.

  12. Still playing Minecraft, only this time I'm building a giant castle fortress with Armitage on a server. It will have a skull for a front door and it will cry tears of lava!

  13. You bloody nerd. I've half a mind to join you, just so I can blow it up.

  14. I doubt you'd spend €14 just to blow my castle up.

You're a vengeful freak, but you're not that vengeful.

  15. I've been playing MvC3 and it is very forgiving for novices. And very rewarding for pros too. It's probably got the best balanced fighting system ever.

  16. @alpolio: Cheers for the info, that sounds encouraging. Might snaffle it up when it hits the £25 mark.

@chi: sounds like fighting talk. Mind you, I can't be arsed to enter my banking details so if it's not on Amazon then I'm OUT.

  17. It's payable veea paypal. Your pal in the payment circle.

  18. I've had a good time with it. The Panau setting is huge. Part of the appeal is admittedly the fact that it just looks really amazing on PC and lets you do just about whatever you want. The lighting and water in particular look fantastic. There are lots of really nice effects, too.

It's the type of game that you can jump in and maybe take over a town and a military base for some quick fun, and then jump off for awhile. The story is very, very light. It's a lot like the Mercenaries games. There appears to be a really nice variety in the landscapes. I got it for just $7.50 off of Steam, which was a steal for sure. I've liked most things about it other than the somewhat wonky controls of the vehicles, which rarely works well with kb/m. I downloaded the demo on Steam first before I bought it. Make sure you disable vsync; that was a huge frame booster disabling it, and I really didn't see that much tearing with it turned off.

  19. @AKS: Might pick up the PC version demo and see what I make of it - I've heard a few people say it looks pretty stunning. Have to say it looks pretty nice on the PS£ anyway but I've heard the PC version easily trumps it.

It's quite pick up and play though? I didn't realise that. Might have to give it more of a go - I think I was still early in the storyline so I kept on having to do certain things. Maybe that eases off just after where I am.

  20. That makes it a possibility then. Didn't bfun have issues getting his copy sorted once he paid for it though? I remember him moaning about it a while back, the moany so and so.
