Dang. If I get it, it would be mainly for coop play. If coop loses all the charm you get from the single player mode, it would suck.
Walking Dead seems quite good. I'm impressed they made such good use of the source material. Most licensed material tends to result in garbage games.
I know ep 1 and 2 are good. my friends said the remaining 3 go downhill. this made me postpone my completion of the game.
XCOM Enemy Unknown Haven't gotten to play it yet as I'm home for Christmas in Houston. My dad has a pretty nice gaming rig of his own (i5-3570K, 16GB DDR3, GTX550ti, SSD) that he uses for flight simulators, so I may fire it up in a minute and see how it is. I've heard it described as Civilization crossed with Mass Effect, and I love both of those so I'll probably like it.
A few tips. It's entirely possible to lose the game after 20 hours in so don't screw up the commanding strategy part. Build satellites when you got the money. Build-em, launch them, get mo money. When given the choice you should choose the mission with the country with the highest fear level. There are some exception but you may regret it if you go for the best reward. Engineers > scientist, IMO
Awesome actually. It's better than I thought. I bought it pre-owned so I saved some money. I had Uncharted and NFS: most Wanted come with it too so I have loads to do until Monster Ultimate comes out for the 3DS next March. You should get Persona 4, it's an awesome game and has such great length and depth.
Sleeping Dogs is pretty damn good. It's fun and looks terrific with the high-resolution texture pack. I don't think it can fully be appreciated unless you've seen some good HK cop/ triad dramas. I'm still working in the first area predominantly, and I've spent a decent amount of time doing side missions and collecting things. Sometimes I just cruise until I find a collectable guarded by a small gang and pick a fight so I can take it. Driving mechanics are certainly not perfect, but they aren't so bad, either. The only thing about this game that has really irritated me is the bizarre mix of SSAA and FXAA, the best and worst looking AA technologies currently (well, that are even remotely practical at least). I do not understand why they are linked together in the in-game AA settings. I'll probably mess around with Inspector and see if I can get a decent alternative working. I don't know why anyone capable of using the high end settings would use FXAA instead of a combo like MSAA and transparency SGSSAA, which is what I typically use unless developers fuck up the settings. Also, Dishonored's default config settings are garbage. 4x AF, no MSAA, tiny 512 MB memory pools, and only FXAA or MLAA. Basically, they seem to assume you have no better than an equivalent of an Xbox 360. I changed just about every graphics config setting and forced 16x AF and 8x MSAA and 8x SGSSAA with an LOD bias of -1.5. Now it looks pretty sharp. The VRAM usage went from around 600 to 700 MB to around 1200 MB or more just from the AA. (right click; view image)
You'll find the driving much more bearable with an X360 controller. I was able to get away from cops among other things with ease when I swapped out. Hand to hand combat was fun with the controller as well. I switched back to keyboard/mouse during shootouts.
I'm mostly using a 360 controller. It's probably the perspective that throws me. Is there a way to switch to an over the hood view? It's not too bad as is. I've adjusted to it somewhat and managed to win my first race by a huge margin.
Picked up the following from Greenman Gaming for $3 a piece. Condemned: Criminal Origins Viking: Battle for Asgard
