I have told people to get me a few games for Christmas but worried that once I get FFXV in November it will take a while to get through and I won't get anywhere near the Xmas games any time soon
Haven't had time other than a few minutes of the campaign. Will probably go back and forth between BF1 and Titanfall 2 this weekend. The little bit of BF1 I played seemed really good. I'll probably be more into Titanfall 2 for awhile and come back to BF1 later. I know the BF1 community will be around for awhile and might even grow over time, but I have no idea with TF2. The TF2 community could be dead in six months or a year, and I'd like to experience the game.
@Grim The new Final Fantasy looks really good. First one I've been excited about in some time. The whole dystopian world and it's sole savior concept is big these days. Looks like a mix of Mad Max and classic Final Fantasy RPGing. The last FF I completed was FFX-2. What is the general consensus on FF12 and FF13? I just couldn't get into them....
I had no idea until now that Skyrim Special Edition was free if you already own Skyrim Legendary Edition on Steam (or the base game and all DLC). Will definitely give it a try when it unlocks. Might give the game another playthrough now that they've updated the graphics. I think the last time I was really into Skyrim was 2012. Feels like just yesterday that the whole forum was playing Skyrim, but this game is actually pretty old at this point.
Do you see the preload yet? I'll probably get it but dang I already have 260 hours logged on the original.
It appeared in my Steam library tonight. Was able to preload. I guess it unlocks later tonight? Titanfall 2 also unlocks tonight if I'm not mistaken. Never really did anything with the DLC in Skyrim so will probably focus on that this playthrough.
Mine appeared when it unlocked. At least I think it unlocked at 6:00 PM my time. I'm tempted to get Titanfall 2 as well. What was EA thinking. BF1, Titanfall 2, and CoD IW all at the same time.
The reaction to anything related to COD IW has been overwhelmingly negative. The COD IW trailer rivaled the new Ghostbusters for downvotes on YouTube. Meanwhile BF1 and TF2 are getting rave reviews, pretty much 9s and 10s across the board, and fan reaction has been positive. I think EA is thinking they can take on Activision with two really good shooters going up against a most likely really mediocre one at a time when fans are tiring of COD.
Titanfall 2 has a really good single player campaign. Don't skip over it. It has a time shift ability with a light world/dark world thing similar to A Link to the Past. Combined with wall running and the jet pack, it has some of the more interesting puzzles I've seen outside of Portal or Prey. The time shifting also makes the combat pretty cool. You can jump between time periods and jump out right behind enemies. The puzzles tend to involve figuring out what changed between the two time periods. Very cool game that unfortunately came out at the worst possible time. Titanfall is a great game series that should have been a huge hit but keeps getting fucked over by EA. They should have delayed this until early next year when it wouldn't be competing so much with CoD and Battlefield.
By all accounts game is a mess on all platforms when it comes to optimisation. Even a Titan XP can't hold 60FPS at 1080p ultra. Digital foundry did a nice roundup. Think I will wait until 2017.
Rise of the Tomb Raider Deluxe Edition It popped up for $22.50 and figured it wouldn't get any cheaper this year.
Game Stop. It's a Steam code. http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/ri...7&sourceID=lw9MynSeamY-tcAHZzZE90nm4Hcv.4GQlg
