Yeah, it just seemed such a flat experience. I thought the original was overrated but still a very good game. The sequel just didn't seem to offer anything that compelling or new and felt more like an expansion pack rather than a good sequel.
Probably not. It plays the same throughout so if you didn't like the beginning you wont like the rest. I'm about 4 hours into DA II and it seems a little better to me. They improved the battle mechanics and the story already seems better. But so far I wouldn't recommend it if you didn't like the first.
I thought Bioshock 2 had lower peaks (i.e., Ft. Frolic) than the original, but Bioshock 2 also peaked at the end rather than running off the rails in the last 1/3 of the game the way the original didl. I was actually pretty satisfied with the alternate perspective segment and the conclusion of Bioshock 2. So overall, I'd rate them similarly. Perhaps Bioshock 1 was a tad bit better because Ft Frolic was so awesome, and Rapture was new, but the end of Bioshock 1 was still quite weak and disappointing.
The original certainly felt very uneven in terms of pacing and quality; the final bit was certainly very disappointing. I might go back to 2 if it gets better as it goes along.
Correction: I meant Bioshock 2 had lower peaks but was more consistent, especially towards the end. Bioshock 1 was 2/3 awesome followed by1/3 mediocre.
The last I played a long time ago was the first part. It looked pretty nice. The actual reason I bought this was because it was cheap (5 euro) and I have part 1 (although yet to finish). I really have to see if it sucks or not. Unreal 3 is awesome, but with all eye-candy on a bit slow on my pc. Left4Dead2 is pretty neat. Loved the movie-like storyline. Both latter games I am going to play online with a friend from work. As with Team Fortress 2, but that one came with the Orange Box a long time ago.
I forgot that was out soon. Would be interested to se what you make of it. Is mainly a detectivey style game? I remember reading about how facial animation would work and that sounded interesting - wasn't sure what form the rest of the game would take.
I just went to Gamestation and picked up some treats. GTAIV + Episodes = £17.99 PS3 Borderlands = £14.99 PS3 NFS Hot Pursuit = £17.99 PS3 (turns out it was the limited edition, didn't realise it at the time) I also placed my first ever pre-order. L.A. Noire. Although I've got GTAIV (plus downloaded the episodes) for the Xbox my disc is shagged and won't work. I've had a hankering for GTA lately so I figured I'd get it for PS3, easy trophies.
I went to Game today and Picked up Yakuza 4, been playing it pretty much for the whole day It's amazing, I just wish it was in English
Apparently people have been cancelling preorders because of it only supporting 16:9 instead of 16:10 natively or something and complaining the UI has been "consolised." Those consoles eh? They've got their fingers in many pies.
Too soon to tell. Only got 30 minutes on it. It looks very nice and I have to play it on high instead of ultra high.
You use to get a cheap-ish one free - you had to buy the good wireless one seperately. Don't know if it has changed since.
I just upgraded to PlayStation+. I've chosen Little Big Planet since I've always wanted to get it and infamous because it seems like the only quasi-decent game to get (I have WipEout HD Fury anyway). I also just began downloading Burnout Paradise (got it on the xbox and it's one of my favourite racers) and Sonic Adventure, one of Sonic's high points. I also happened upon the Sonic 4 dynamic theme so I figured I'd get that too since I only have the standard theme. My PS3 will be downloading for a looong time.
