inFamous 2 but I am a bit miffed! Wen't into Gamestation and it was £39.99, went to the tills to pay, he gets the game out and then realises I have my debit card and loyalty card in my hand and says the cards are not working! I had £8 I intended to use . Didn't have any cash on me so picked it up in GAME for £39.99. I know its not really any kind of revenge because they have the same owners but I wasn't going to go back, they should have had some signs up saying no cards!. Will save the £8 and use it for Zelda 3D next week.
Its one of the lowest places I have seen, Gametrailers gave it 9.2/10 and IGN 9/10, perhaps the Gamespot reviewer just wasn't a fan.
I'd be interested in getting Infamous 2 but only when it's hit the 20-25 quid mark. With game pricing these days, I'll probably only have to wait a month or 2.
got 300 bucks worth of wii stuff at Gamestop and looked at the 3ds to finally determine if it worked with my lazy eye... it does, but either it's not nearly as effective because it's me, or the technology is just weak cuz it wasn't NEARLY as '3d' as other methods turn out to be. Could also be that I didn't have a lot of time to play around with it to find the appropriate angle and stuff. Anyway I didn't get one. I loked on ebay and I didn't even pay for my wii!! that really sucks. so now I'll have to wait an entire week just to play any of this stuff! weak
Assassin's Creed 2. I've decided to try this franchise but skip the first one (as I've read about many technical issues). Played for 2 hours to the point where you got the real assassin's outfit. I am ambivalent about it, I really like the renaissance design and the freedom of exploring the city but I am not sure whether or not this linear storyline will keep me focused for long.
AC1 was awesome, no technical issues here (I had it on 360). I got AC2 a year or so ago but have yet to play Brotherhood. I fear they're going the way of COD now releasing games too soon.
Bought some new games for the first time this year: Guitar Hero II Guitar Hero III Prince of persia: Forgotten sands Got all of those for £25. Not bad.
I just bought Batman Arkham Asylum because my mate had it and it looked high quality, and I also got the first (I think) Uncharted, Drake's Fortune. Now I can see for myself what all the fuss is about. I won't play it yet as the HD TV is in use so I'll just play Black Ops in SD for now. Got both games for £20 from gamestation.
I'm playing Uncharted now, I'm still at the beginning, searching for el dorado. There's a few things I like and a few I don't like, just early impressions. Pros The graphics can be a little basic at times but in general they're pretty good. He really looks wet when he gets out of the water. The controls are fairly intuitive, he can navigate rough terrain easily and quickly. Cons It's sometimes hard to tell what he'll grab hold of and what he won't. The movement seems a little loose and not very controlled I walked off the edge of a ledge and he grabbed hold on his way down, he didn't grab hold the second time I tried this causing me to die. It seems a little hit and miss whether he'll do what you want him to do. Collectibles Remember these are just my first impressions, I'm sure some of these cons won't be an issue once I'm used to the game. I'm not sure I trust this Sully character.
The story seems to be getting more interesting now, the game is getting better too, although some of the gun fights seem pretty undramatic due to the lack of good combat music and the guns sound like toys. Jury's still out on this one. Really? You're not overselling it? I hope you're right, I'm slightly underwhelmed by this one so far. That's the plan
Uncharted 1 is like Assassin's Creed 1 vs the second game. It's like the wicked step child. It's pretty good, just not as good as the sequal.
The graphics, story, areas, climbing bits...well everything is amazing. Trust. I believe it to be the best game ever at the moment...until U3 that is!
I'm starting to really lose the will to keep playing Uncharted. It just feels cheap. The combat is utter shite, no matter where I seek cover I'm being shot at from all angles so I end up having to run around in the open shooting people who dodge bullets like they're in the matrix. They gave me an AK47 but practically no ammo for it. The punching is crap too. It keeps saying press square, triangle, square for a brutal combo. That worked once at the beginning but ever time I try to do it I press square and as soon as the punch lands I press triangle but it fails and the enemy just shoots me (as well as the others from all angles) resulting in my death. Why is there punching when all the enemies have guns? There's so much going on in this game that makes me want to play something else. Every game I buy on a recommendation turns out to be no where near as good as the recommender made out, STALKER, Mass Effect 2, Battlefield BC 2 and now Uncharted. I have to stop listening to people when they say I should buy a game because "It's the best game ever". I'm just wasting my money and getting pissed off.
Punching is mucho importante! Nobody recomended Uncharted 1 lol. I'm telling you, it's like AC1, simply unimpressive. I don't see how you could not like Mass Effect 2 though... unless your compairing it to Mass Effect 1.
I just felt Mass Effect 2 was kind of boring, long winded and rather generic. The action scenes were ok but nothing to write home about. I've still got plenty to do on that game but it just doesn't grab me like some games do.
The Uncharted and Mass Effect games are definitely unimpressive. It's just one big swamp gas conspiracy.
I'm really getting into The Witcher 2. It's remarkable how much they've improved the sequel over the original. I'm really happy with the changes they've made, and it's a fantastic, beautiful showcase of gaming tech. This may be my favorite game so far this year.
