What TV Shows Are You Watching?

  1. Supernatural again after a second break for the season. This weeks episode was good but it was more of a filler monster of the week episode instead of forwarding the main story episode.

  2. I watched the first season of Walking Dead on netflix. It was pretty good.

  3. Saving myself for tomorrow to watch it. Don't spoil it until then. :D

  4. aks is talking about season 1... unless you haven't seen season 1 either

  5. I've only seen Season 1. Season 2 wasn't on netflix.

I also watched a couple of episodes of Breaking Bad, which seems excellent so far.

  6. Season 2 started tonight. And Rick is pretty bad ass.

  7. I believe you meant season 2 continued tonight.

  8. @bfun

I was pleased with how he iced those two dudes from Philly. They were marauding scumbags who were fishing for information so they could take over the farm.

  9. I meant the continuation of season 2, but I must have misread AKS late last night.

  10. I finished Dragonball. Now I'm on episode 4 of Dragonball Z. The first time I watched it was around the time Radditz showed up which I now know is pretty much the very beginning of the series. I remember seeing the arc where Nappa and Vegeta are kicking around. I also saw some Frieza episodes but most of my viewing was around the Cell and Majin Buu storylines. I'm glad I watched Dragonball first as I now know the origins of most of the characters. I think Piccolo is still hanging onto his evil roots but he'll come around soon enough.

  11. Until he starts training Gohon yeah.

Just watched the newest Walking Dead episode. Good episode and the end part was tense.

  12. Holy crap! I just learned that there are 17 Dragonball films!

  13. A new one has recently come out too about Goku's dad going back into the past fighting a Frieza ancestor. ;D

  14. I recently started watching Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated episodes after hearing that it was such a good update on the original show, and haven't been disappointed. It manages to poke some fun at the original, modernize the character relationships a bit, and still keep the show true to the classic elements. Throw in some good supporting voice work from Patrick Warburton as the sheriff and Lewis Black as the mysterious "Mr. E", and you've got an enjoyable 23 minutes of goofy humor.

  15. I've seen a few episodes of that series when I was around my mates house and his kids were watching it. It seems to actually follow a arc story line now instead of just random episodes.

  16. Full Metal Jousting

    It's actually kind of amusing.

  17. Been watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - it's been good so far. It reminds me of Seinfeld but much darker. I've not been blown away by all of the episodes but I've been told that it really gets better from Season 4 onwards (and I've just started Season 4)

  18. That's pretty much how I would describe Sunny. It's like a less whiny and obnoxious Seinfeld, with much darker humor. I never liked Seinfeld very much, but Sunny is one of my favorite shows.

I would agree that it gets more consistent in the later seasons. Like many shows, Sunny took awhile to find its stride. Season 1 can be pretty funny for instance, but most of the episodes look like they were filmed for about $1.50. It also got a lot better once Danny Devito joined the cast. The dynamic of the gang wasn't quite right without Frank.

Season 4 has "The Nightman Cometh" which is arguably the best episode of the show. They even made it into a traveling musical.

  19. The Voice

My wife keeps watching this show and it's fucking annoying. Reality TV in general is pretty dire, but karaoke shows like this are beyond pathetic. What famous singer has ever come out of a reality show? And don't say Kelly Clarkson, because she was a one hit wonder, and even that's probably giving her too much credit.

  20. What's the dif between Reality TV and a Game Show?? I mean take Wheel of Fortune, what's the diference?? Or take a Miss USA pageant, what's the difference?

I started this by typing about what I think of as Reality TV, a majority of the shows on A&E and History Channel. But than I thought of the show that started this Reality TV craze, Survivor (Well, Real World really...) and yes, survivor isn't just some opera house talent show. It is reality as in outside in the real world. But it's also a game show!

Anyway anything that resembles a game show kind of gets on my nerves. I'd recently sold my soul to reality tv (don't ask me why... bordom than it's REALLY addicting!!) and my fave is American Pickers (and Swamp Ppl) I kind of like Ax Men, REALLY like Pawn Stars and sorta' like Storage Wars though it's REALLY racist at times lol... just WATCH one ep of SW Texas, it has a black dude and a white girl and the black dude acts like her modern day slave n she acts like she owns him :x. Even the original SW (LA area) has slight racist overtones from time to time.

Anyway Pickers is permanently on my DVR. I love how the tall guy acts like such a kiss up :p that's another way to say he's got manners and class, but he can get on ppl's nerves.

On what makes this reality tv is this is some dudes job, his REALITY. Don't give me a "talent show" as if it's some new glitzy reality tv thing. I never heard that term until Surviver made it chic.
