What TV Shows Are You Watching?

  1. SPOILERS

That was the shocking event I was talking about. Amazing that it was aired, especially back then. The psychological elements, including Leland occasionally regaining momentary awareness and the glimpses of BOB feeding off of Maddy's terror and suffering, were just as disturbing as the violence. If memory serves, there weren't any commercials in the last 20 minutes of that episode, and people were seriously freaked out by BOB.

There is indeed a dropoff in quality mid-season for awhile, but the last few in the season are considerably better. There is more to learn about the evil entities of Twin Peaks, especially toward the end of Season 2. The final episode in particular is very important to the series. It's difficult to say anything about the final episode without major spoilers. If you're curious about whether there is more to learn about the spiritual/ supernatural elements of Twin Peaks, there definitely is.

  2. Finished the first season of Son's of Anarchy last night. I never thought I would get engrossed in a series about bikers but it has been great so far. This show seems like the biker version of The Soprano's.

  3. I'm switching to from DISH Network to Direct TV just so I can get the Walking Dead this year. Stupid DISH.

  4. Good thing about Xfinity is you get free (very basic) cable in HD. I'm pretty sure that includes A&E as I watch 'Merican Pickers on it all the time but it might be just certain shows. I know it's only certain episodes.

I also watch the Network stations on my TV in HD you just plug the cable into the TV. I got a 2.4ghz splitter and it works great for my internet and my pirating needs. No A&E on my TV though. might be the tuner in there but, I get A&E (Pickers) on xfinity.com comercial free.

  5. Walking Dead is on AMC.

  6. oh darn than I'm pretty sure I don't get it. I got netflix though

  7. Watched the pilot of Breaking Bad. It's fairly interesting... only I don't feel like watching Weeds again, besides the best part about that was the kids' antics... and Nancy's hot ever-lovin frapacinno ass, neither of which look like they'll remotely be present in this one. I think I'll skip it. That's ok, I didn't much like Dexter either when it seemed like everybody else did.

  8. Breaking Bad is nothing like Weeds beyond the fact that it involves drugs.

Weeds is crap beyond Season 3, and at best it's a pretty average show.

Breaking Bad is the best show in the history of television. It's better than most films even. Go ahead and skip it. But you're missing out on something incredible.

  9. I wouldn't say its the best show on television but it is really good. Good enough to take time away from my games, which is hard. A couple of episodes in I was hooked. Shit gets crazy after a while, looking forward the new series although I did feel like they'd tied everything up with the last one.

  10. What show is better? The only one that I can think of that even compares to it is Game of Thrones. And even then, Breaking Bad is better. No other TV show has the same caliber of writing and acting. Breaking Bad makes everything else look like shit by comparison. And comparing it to Weeds doesn't do it any justice. Weeds is a shitty show that had a few okay-ish episodes early in its run. Breaking Bad has been nothing but amazing all the way through. There has never been a bad episode. There has never been a dip in quality. It has never jumped the shark. In fact, Breaking Bad gets better as it goes.

Breaking Bad is what a television show can be when the writing is done properly. It knows where it's going and it knows what it wants to be. So many otherwise good shows have been derailed by bad writing. They need to look at what Breaking Bad has done and take note. The entire series was written before they filmed anything. That's why everything comes together as a cohesive whole, and why you don't have any red herrings in the plot, or "we made this up as we went along" type shit like you do in other TV shows.

  11. To give you an idea of how big of a show Breaking Bad is... Recently DISH Network (a satellite provider here in the US) failed negotiations with AMC so all of their customers will not get AMC anymore; AMC being the network of Breaking Bad (and The Walking Dead). This was pretty bad news for DISH as they knew that they were going to have a huge wave of cancelling customers so they were going to provide their customers with Roku streaming boxes for free or give their customers a full credit.

The bad part is that the season premier of Breaking Bad is today. As a sign of empathy, AMC decided to give all DISH network subscribers the ability to live stream it online today.

Not very often that this type of string of events happens for just a single TV show.

Note: I don't even watch this show.

  12. so if I didn't like the pilot I shouldn't watch it  just playin with ya I'll give it a few more.

  13. Just called Dish 'complaining' and I guess I just don't have a mad enough voice since they wouldn't get me out of my contract my mom signed with them BUT they did give me 3 free months of HBO and Showtime. That's quite cool as I'm really not interested in AMC's programs at all (though I did make it seem like I was :)) and now I get free Game of Thrones and Dexter etc. for a few months!

Digest ver- HAHA Dish!! Suckers -_-

I'm still paying way too much for it though :/

  14. That's the spirit. If you're going to stay on Dish, make them pay for it. Losing AMC is a big deal as you're missing out on some great shows.

  15. Speaking of Breaking Bad, does anyone know if an electromagnet could actually destroy a hard drive through two feet of concrete like in tonight's episode? Would the hard drive have to be running? I thought most of the stuff about HDDs and magnets was BS from what I recall. Although it seemed like the electromagnet pulled everything with such force, that that by itself could cause serious damage.

  16. Was out with the family yesterday and my brother was going on about breaking bad, he has gotten my sister into it and asked if I was watching it. He reckons that it is a fantastic show and that I should make a point of watching it.

Unlike those two however I don't have Netflix so its probably way too much of a pain in the arse to look into at the moment.

  17. Breaking Bad is the best show in the history of television. Get a hold of it any way you can.

  18. Netflix is free for your first month so I could sign up I guess and give it a go.

  19. Netflix doesn't have all of the episodes though. You'll still end up on torrent sites.

To put things into perspective, my brother hates TV and hasn't had cable for years, and even he thinks Breaking Bad is fantastic and never misses an episode.

  20. All of Season 1-3 are currently available on Netflix UK so a free month on the service should give me a start.
