What TV Shows Are You Watching?

  1. You did ruin it. Now we know Walt and Gus quit they're partnership...

  2. I never said anything about that. I just said they rob a train of precursor.

  3. It's obvious though seeing as working with Gus Walt has everything needed whenever.

  4. I've not seen any BB episodes from season 5 yet. But I'll get around to it. I thought season 4 was the end to be honest. I'm intrigued to see what doings transpire in this latest season.

I watched the first two seasons of lost religiously, I loved it. But channel 4 sold the rights to Sky after that and I missed many seasons. I heard something about time travel and islands moving and it sounded beyond far fetched. I did catch the last season though. Me and a friend even stayed up for the final episode which was being shown over here the same time as in the US, I think it started around 3am here. Although I'd missed a few seasons I was interested to see what happened and the episode was very entertaining. I remember the ad breaks being annoying as I wanted to see the final show down with the two main characters. I know a lot of people took issue with the ending but it was interesting to say the least. I'm glad I watched it.

  5. In typical Breaking Bad fashion it's not about the fact that their partnership ends. Anyone can tell that's going to happen as they have conflicting personalities. It's why and how it ends that's important.

  6. I've just returned from a couple of days at Whitby with a friend. It was nice. For you American folks it's a pleasant enough seaside town that serves up the best fish and chips I've ever eaten. For the English lads it's the place where they used to film Heartbeat. I had a good time but the reason I post this is because while there my mate started watching ironman2 on his phone as he has Netflix. I said "why don't we watch this on my iPad instead?" So now I have free access to Netflix on my iPad. Any shows worth watching? I guess now's the time to catch up on the latest series of breaking bad and probably as good a time as any to start Game of Thrones from the beginning. Besides those two shows is there anything else of that calibre doing the rounds?

  7. It's not a TV show, but Drive is on netflix streaming, and it's totally worth watching.

  8. If you have any interest in Westerns, check out Lonesome Dove sometime. It's a TV miniseries that was made in the late 80's, and stars Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones. I was skeptical of this one before seeing it, but it's high quality...four 90 minute episodes in total. Currently available for streaming.

  9. I'm not sure if us Americans can help him much. I'm going to have to assume the UK selection is different?

  10. It isn't on yet but Red Dwarf X starts on Dave on the 4th October. They are showing the old series in reverse order as a countdown every Saturday and Sunday. It was damned odd watching series 8 on Saturday and then 7 on Sunday but I can kind of understand why they are doing it that way.

Hoping X is actually decent, 9 (back to earth) was dreadful.

  11. Red dwarf was amazing, 15 years ago. They should stopped making the show ages ago. They're all too old now and the lame special effects used to be cool in a cheesy way, now they just look pathetic.

  12. After grant left it did go downhill but I did enjoy every series 1-8 so I am willing to give them one more chance to redeem themselves for 9.

The only shame is that I have read there will be no Holly. Norman was fantastic as Holly so if true its a shame.

I am a bit of a Dwarf nerd, always have been so I am looking forward to it.

  13. I started watching Star Trek TNG about a year ago, as I had always ignored it during its original run. I am up to the start of season 6 and its rapidly becoming unwatchable. But ive already invested so much time into it, I feel like i should wrap it up.

Currently making my way through the first season of Boardwalk Empire. I like it pretty well thus far. Gives me something to watch while I wait for Game of Thrones, Archer and Venture Bros are back on the air.

  14. Boardwalk Empire's production seems to get a lot better in season two, it really impressed me and was up there with Game of Thrones as far how close to a big budget movie it was. I'm a bit hot and cold wrt the story though. It's at least good, but whenever it seems to approach great it comes crashing down quite a bit. There are so many awesome characters by about midway through season 2, so it's up there with Game of Thrones in that regard also, IMO.

  15. They have been showing Voyager in the 8-9am slot on one of the stations over here and I have been watching that again. Tis up to season 4 at the moment, just finished the 'year from hell'. Keeps me entertained while I get ready for work.

Other than that I have started watching Green Wing again as they seem to be showing it nightly on GOLD.

  16. TNG started off bad, got good after a couple of seasons, and then got bad again. But when it was good, it was pretty amazing.

I thought all of the incest stuff was a bit much. It was already implied. Did they really need to show Jimmy fucking his mom? And then I guess they were going for Oedipus when he kills his dad with a trident or something.

  17. Wait even boardwalk empire has incest? I thought you were talking about game of thrones for a moment and had to re-read. wtf is this world coming to?

  18. HBO: The Incest Network

  19. Incest is best.

  20. Incest is bestcest.
