What TV Shows Are You Watching?

  1. Tennant and Wilfred had an amazing relationship for an incidental character that appears in a few episodes that Smith, Amy and Rory haven't managed in 4 series

  2. But Amy and Rory are gone now, we have already seen 2 versions of Oswin but not the main companion one/version/incarnation that I assume he meets next week when the new ones start.

  3. I've seen a few minutes of Dr Who here or there, and it was some of the lamest, most unfunny Britishest crap I've seen. I vaguely remember people traveling through time in a magical phone booth to meet furries or something. How the fuck this shit stayed on the air for like 50 years I'll never know. I guess British TV is just that bad. Dr Who is the kind of thing an American network would have cancelled mid commercial break during the second episode and replaced with reruns of Two and a Half Men.

  4. i <3 community

  5. American networks come up with stuff like Terra Nova for time travel.

  6. Monkey is just a hater.

  7. And Terra Nova got cancelled quickly.

  8. Proving that American networks aren't usually very competent with time travel. Doctor Who is significantly better and more interesting than what the U.S. has produced.

  9. When was Dr Who ever supposed to funny. :-\

  10. I saw 2 episodes of that show. The first one was kinda cool and dealt with a lost Shakespeare play. The second one was, for lack of a better description, totally gay.

  11. Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking

Mostly it just put me to sleep.

  12. Apparently Moffat hasn't even been handed the 50th anniversary script, he has it under lock and key on a laptop? He is worried about losing it I think and the plot being leaked.

I think we have to expect the appearance of previous Doctors? They did it before with an episode which I think was called the 5 doctors but Baker refused and so they used stock footage of him. Hartnell was already dead so someone else had to play him. I think they have the caretaker from Harry Potter playing Hartnell in some sort of documentary special about the creation of DW this year too.

  13. Anyone see In the Flesh on Sunday? About zombies but they've got medication to make them back to normal and are being reintegrated back into society. I thought the first episode was pretty good but some bits were hard to watch.

Be careful monsly, it'll make you cry.

  14. I've never heard of this show. You sure you weren't hallucinating?

  15. I watched it, Mrs Grim loves zombie related shows/films so I didn't really have a choice. It was pretty good and had an interesting subject matter.

The thing that annoys me most is that BBC HD is replaced by BBC2 HD next week and as this is on BBC3 it seems like you are only going to be able to watch it in SD.

  16. Balls, do you think it'll be HD on iPlayer?

  17. I should think so on-demand but I don't know what they do with the live streams. No idea if they give you HD option live.

  18. Just checked on Sky EPG and although it doesnt change channel name as that will happen Tues In The Flesh definitely isn't on in HD next week. The schedule is just a simulcast of BBC2.

Back to the subject of the show, I have enjoyed the two episodes. A really interesting take on the whole Zombie thing but you could tell what was going on between him and Rick a mile off. The crazy girl added a nice bit of craziness to the unread, the idea that you no longer fear the reaper so you may as well have fun.

  19. the new one is like that... only it jumps around one minute your in ancient rome than your on mars in 6578 than your in london 1989 than your back in rome in the same storyline as the first. Also sometimes you go over passed events and how it effects the timeline so it's almost like the whole THING is one storyline wrapped up in one complicated inter-colosul ball. I will agree with Phi though, the first Doctor was much better than the second. It's not just the actor but the actING... he gets all emo at the end and even points it out as it is all planned that way. Annoying.

Not that I'd argue with the second part but have you SEEN the kind of crap they got on TV now?? honestly I'm just BEGGING for something good on there's SO FEW good series on at all! I'm always trying something but Netflix Streaming and Amazon Prime keep failing me :/

  20. I think I need to pick a season of the new Doctor Who on Netflix and watch in it's entirety. Might go with the first Matt Smith one, as I've already seen the initial eye-in-the-sky episode and thought it was decent.
