I watched the first episode of Black Mirror. A princess gets kidnapped in what I think is supposed to be the UK. The kidnapper will only release the princess if the prime minister fucks a pig on live TV. It was super weird.
I guess I can dump Amazon and Hulu originals in here.... Goliath is pretty good show. BBT plays his signature role: loser alcoholic ready for redemption, this time as a washed out lawyer. The show itself is a murder mystery / conspiracy that unravels as a legal drama. First 2 episodes kick off at 10/10... by the finale it's clocking ~6/10. Overall, I give the full ride a 7/10.
In these troubled times... the one thing that can help bring Americans together is the common hatred of Scientology. Leah Remini's New Scientology Series Is A&E's Strongest Debut In Two Years
I just couldn't get into Humans series 2. The first series was so good but after 2 episodes of series 2 I had already lost interest, deleted it from my Sky box. Grand Tour is a lot better than new Top Gear. I didn't find the first couple of episodes amazing but the last one was pretty good and made me laugh a few times, BBC must be kicking themselves. Planet Earth II was amazing, BBC and Attenborough at their best.
My wife was watching New Girl. I sat down and watch some of it. I laughed. Now I feel ashamed. But to be fair, I laughed at one of the guy characters, not at Zooey Deschanel. She is still insufferable and cringe-inducing.
Been watching True Detectives on HBO. I'm on episode 3 and I'm thinking it's a little odd. I hope it gets better.
I'm into Season 2 of The Wire. It's free to watch (legally) for me through Amazon Video. Seems quite good.
The wire was a very well written and acted show, but the slow pace put me off. I never got very far into it. I've been meaning to get back into it at some point.
Taboo Surprisingly good. I thought it would be dull, but it's actually really dark and trashy. Sometimes Tom Hardy sounds a bit too much like Bain or Mad Max, but the acting is mostly pretty good.
The Crown Great production values, but very slow moving and a bit dull. Edit: starts to get better a few episodes in. It's actually quite good from episode 3 on.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events I'm not sure why I started watching it but once it got going it was too weird to turn away.
Legion Don't really understand the great reviews. It seemed like it was trying too hard and was just weird for the sake of being weird. It was also boring. And I'm not sure where they can go with it. Seems like it will just turn into yet another superhero show, with the gimmick being that he's a superhero who suffers from mental illness.
Narcos Not great but consistently good. Every episode keeps me glued to the TV. The fact that it's based on real events makes it more interesting.
I finished Narcos and have been watching Iron Fist. It's kind of slow but interesting. I'm hoping it will pick up soon.
I've been watching Xena Warrior Princess again recently, pretty enjoyable to watch it again after almost 15-20 years.
