You’re right on money there. Whenever he comes onscreen I’m like “oh yeah, this mf’er gonna do something STUPID”. And he never lets me down. I might be an episode back but I hope him and the Nazi get a weird subplot.
The Good Place If you can get past the bland early episodes to the big twist of season 1 this becomes a hilarious show.
I binged watched season 4 of The Good Place. The first half was a little boring but the second half was pretty good. It was probably one of the most moving TV show endings I've ever seen.
I felt like they were running out of ideas in Season 4 of the Good Place, but it did have a good ending. After experiencing the equivalent of many lifetimes in heaven, I do think that people would eventually want to pass on into nonexistence so that their consciousness could finally be at rest.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency Typical Douglas Adams stuff. Multiple plotlines that may or may not go somewhere. Oddly, even with all the weirdness, it's Dirk Gently character that doesn't seem to belong in the show. I'm only 3 episodes in so maybe things will change.
I watched Dirk Gently back when it was on. I felt like it had a lot of potential but it never really went anywhere.
That pretty much sums up how I feel about Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett stuff. It always seems pretty good but it's can also get frustrating with all the derailing plot lines and humor.
The Crown S4 I've come to the conclusion that Margaret Thatcher was basically Britain's version of Donald Trump.
I came across 2 different Dirk Gently shows. One with Frodo and another with a guy who also looked familiar. Both seemed kinda cool but nothing I’d go out of my way to watch.
The Queen's Gambit It was decent. Basically the same troubled genius story we've seen before, this time with an orphan who becomes a chess prodigy but struggles with addiction. It seemed like they were kind of running out of ideas for it by the end. I actually hope they just keep it as a miniseries and don't do a second season.
Just finished season two of The Boys. I liked the way they wrapped it up and teased the next story. The Deep and A-Train interactions were good, and solidify my view that the Deep is a solid gold retard.
The Boys was great, we've finished it finally last week or so. Great show, didn't know the original so both the story and characters were totally unexpected. Dirk Gently was sadly better in the first season, I barely remember what happened in the second. I don't quite buy the actor playing Dirk, can't exacly realize what's wrong but somehow he ruins the show.
Yeah, he felt wrong and out of place with the rest of the cast until later on when it's clear he's supposed to be this insecure guy who really has no idea what's going on. After that it seemed a bit more normal. That's also why I liked season 2 a little better. Meanwhile, the hobbit assistant detective role was almost identical to the Arthur sidekick in the Tick TV show.
Just wrapped up the Mandalorian. So satisfying, much Star Wars. It’s honestly better than the three sequels. I am hoping in ten years those movies age well and get more appreciation like the prequels did. Cuz right now they just “Well those are some movies I saw”. Nothing special. But The Mandalorian is great. It feels like the original trilogy and the animated series had a baby. Everyone is badassed. It’s got blaster battles, not a ton of space dogfighting, some cool Jedi stuff, intriguing entanglements, and not much romance implied or otherwise. It lacks the epic scale of any of the movies (Solo and Rogue One excluded) in that there is no Death Star scene or battle of Hoth. But it feels as important as Rogue One. Solo can suck it if they don’t bring back Darth Maul just because that movie was boring. Anyways 9/10. Watch it if you like Star Wars. Baby Yoda cute. Fun spin-offs incoming.
Mando is really good and is the best Star Wars has been since the original trilogy. Those cameos were well done as well. Interesting to see where S3 goes.
Mando was better than the prequel or sequel trilogies. I would put it on par with the original trilogy and Rogue One. Jon Favreau is a great director. It’s too bad he wasn’t the one directing the sequel trilogy.
I was worried about the Disney Star Wars marriage at first. And to a point it’s justified. The sequel trilogy is really weak. Midichlorians and Jar Jar weak. But just looking at what they have planned for Disney+ paired with the quality of the Mandalorian eases my mind. Beyond the Obi Wan with Hayden Christiansen, they are looking at the Old Republic!
