XBOX ONE 1st November 2013 everywhere. $499 US $499 Euro £429 UK. Seems a lot of money, if sony go under 400 that will be another bonus for them.
Does it really seem like alot of money? X360 with that tiny hdd back in 2005 was $500 no? The Playstation 3 was $500 and $600 in 2006. Will Sony go $400 or less? If so, I will be dead surprised. The PS3 is still hovering around $250+
That seems rather expensive. Seems the US is getting the best deal. I wonder if bundling Kinect with everything means they can't go cheaper?
Analyst's expected £$399 tops so M$ have gone $100 over. Maybe Sony are fleecing them for blu ray royalties? 360 was $299 for core and $399 for premium.
Sounds like the analysts forgot about the X360 launch price too. I find this quite amusing. I was expecting at least $500, if not more, for xbox and playstation systems. Also, I expect the controllers to be slightly more expensive than they were last gen.
Re: Re: Xbox One Discussion It is $100-$200 more expensive than the 360 launch depending on which model you got. For $200 less you got a console that could play 360 games. Being a DRM packed cable box must inflate the price.
Tell that to the armies of Street Fighter, Tekken, Street Fighter X Tekken, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Dead or Alive, Marvel vs Capcom, and Virtua Fighter fans out there. If anything fighting games are going through somewhat of a revival after a bit of a loll.
Fighting games have hardly returned to their previous prominence though. People love brown FPS games now and long may they reign over us.
$499 isn't outside of the range that I thought was possible. And remember, they bundled the hell out of the launch 360. The prelaunch bundle that I bought was around $600, and the stand-alone models seemed to be few and far between in the early days.
You just haven't seen Microsoft's awesome upcoming cable box yet. I bet it plays some awesome video games.
The only way I can see Microsoft pulling this off, is if they drop the price of their games! It will encourage more new game sales, and eliminate the sting of having to pay a fee for used games. Still won't help those that borrow/swap games, and people without internet connections.
I'm not sure why everyone's making such a big deal about this statement. They say its a next gen system that does next gen things and some of those things require Internet. Most people have Internet these days anyway.
What happens when you move home and VM say they can't come to install your internet for 1-2 weeks? What happens when you have a VM service outtage in your area and it takes them 3 days to get you back on? What happens when you have a VM problem in your house and they say 1-2 weeks for a technician (which happens a lot!). What happens when you are going to the coast for a week and have have rented a cottage that doesn't have internet and you wanted to take your console? M$ are basically calling us all a bunch of thieving pirates because they have to know what we are doing every 24 hours. I quite often buy old games on ebay for a good price. Cant do that on X1.
