Xbox One Has Already Won: Power of the Cloud

  1. Dudebros are gonna love online multiplayer powered by the cloud.

Back in the days of yore, games were limited to the power of a little box. In the future, the cloud will break down the barriers. The cloud will open a swirly wormhole to unlimited potential. Do you want virtual worlds that live and breathe 24/7? The cloud. Do you want 1000 characters? 10,000? 100,000? 1 million? The cloud.

Xbox One is going to paint the sky green and be the gold standard for all online games.

  2. Clouds aren't enough, we need the power of the universe for true next-gen gaming experiences.

  3. Clouds? There can be only One.

The cloud will make a difference. Online games will have dedicated servers.

How will it improve graphics, the one and only true measure of performance? It can generate data (textures, models, matrices, vectors) that downloads to the clients and then gets used locally. Worlds can be bigger and more dynamic. It probably won't be used for frame/video rendering (OnLive/Gaikai), but maybe if the video is secondary and has a common camera like a Jumbotron.

  4. We need some Far Cry screenshots of said graphical improvements. Maybe these screenshots can feature clouds.

  5. Clouds in the cloud? Could be.

Far Cry 4 needs a Jungletron. Even better, the cloud can simulate a grid of one million wind vectors.
